Sexual assault referral centres offer medical, practical and emotional support to anyone who has been sexually assaulted or raped. They have specially trained pediatrician / Forensic Nurse Examiners (FNE) and support workers to care for you.

In an emergency you should always call 999. If you are unable to safely talk to the operator answering your 999 call, press 55 on your handset to let them know you are there.

Horizon Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) is a specialist facility where people who have experienced rape and sexual assault can receive immediate help and support. We aim to provide all of our clients with information, support and referrals to assist in their recovery, in a safe and welcoming environment. We aim to provide you with information about the options available to you and will support you in the decisions that you make. Horizon SARC is in Birmingham and covers the West Midlands Police Force area – Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country (Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Dudley). Horizon is a dedicated service available to anyone of any gender living in the West Midlands Police Force area. Our services are free and confidential. Please note that we are an appointments only service, clients need to call the dedicated helpline to book an appointment.
